WHOLE HOUSE RENOVATION AND ADDITION

Built in the 1940s, this cottage had an incredible amount of character and personality but was not conducive to the way we live today.  The rooms were small and did not flow well into one another.  The renovation of this house required opening up several rooms and adding square footage to the back of the home, all the while, keeping the curb appeal of a small cottage.

KITCHEN AND DEN RENOVATION AND ADDITION

A rustic yet elegant kitchen that could handle the comings and goings of three boys as well as the preparation of their mom’s gourmet meals for them, was a must for this family.  Previously, the family wanted to spend time together eating, talking and doing homework, but their home did not have the space for all of them to gather at the same time.  The addition to the home was done with architectural details that tied in with the decor of the existing home and flowed in such a way that the addition seems to have been part of the original structure.

PORCH ADDITION

Spending time outside grilling and entertaining was a priority for this family.  They originally had a large open porch that they used regularly.  With the southern humidity in mind, they decided to rethink their porches.  We built an outdoor area with both screen porch and open porch and included many architectural details so they could use this addition year round.

WINE CELLAR

Being an oenophile and gourmet cook, this client desired to have a wine cellar in which to showcase and store his collection of fine wine.  Not only is the cellar useful in preserving wine, it is also a striking addition to the decor of the home, and welcoming to visitors.  As an added bonus, the entire basement has been made into an entertainment space for the family’s two children to share with their friends.

MASTER BATHROOM RENOVATION

Our client has lived in this home for over 20 years, and had a clear idea of how she wanted to renovate her master bathroom without adding any square footage to her home. We used every bit of the available space and created a master bathroom that is functional and aesthetically pleasing.

KITCHEN AND DEN RENOVATION

This 60s ranch-style home was in need of a modern kitchen. The outdated kitchen decor and appliances were replaced by simple, custom cabinetry and gleaming stainless steel appliances. A glass tile backsplash for the bar area and a dramatic hood for the range add to the visual appeal. The family’s three young children can participate in meal preparation, play or do homework at the eat-in island.

CARPORT CONSTRUCTION

Additional storage and covered parking was needed for this family with a single garage. The existing landscape was overgrown and did not have the curb appeal they wanted when arriving home. We cleared the lot and built the carport to match the exterior of the house, while adding the solid wood posts to blend in with the wooded landscape that surrounded the home.

KITCHEN RENOVATION

When the homeowner contacted us to renovate her kitchen, it was one of the last rooms to be refinished in their home. Working with their design we customized many details in the kitchen, including the curved cabinetry in the corner and at the end of the island, a built-in coffee and espresso station, antiqued mirrored cabinetry, and trimless recessed lighting. Along with the kitchen renovation, we worked on several other rooms within the house.

KITCHEN RENOVATION

The original state of this kitchen did not reflect the ideals of the homeowners uniquely retro-modern furnishings and accessories in the rest of the house. The homeowners wanted to update the kitchen by opening the space to the family keeping room, removing the overhead soffits, and expanding the window sizes; all while keeping the space cozy and relaxed with a flair for the dramatic.

KITCHEN RENOVATION

In a house with four children and the family dog, the family needed a space large enough for them to all gather together in the evening for dinner and homework. The kitchen also serves as one of the main passage ways through the house and the original layout was closed off and cramped. By enlarging the opening to the family room, adding the bench nook for additional seating, extending the countertop space, and designing a large island, the kitchen is now a central place to be.

LIVING ROOM RENOVATION AND MUSIC ROOM ADDITION

When the homeowner contacted us to build a room to take the place of an existing courtyard, we gladly accepted the challenge to work with the intricate architectural details in the home. With the addition of the music room it would be connected to three existing rooms. We enlarged the opening from the living room and designed the custom cased opening to reflect the existing ornate molding. We also added custom French doors leading into the Master Bedroom and the Keeping room and a window wall to showcase the masterfully landscaped back yard.
